Distributor's Notes:
"La Ferme Rouge's winemaking history dates to the French occupation in 1933, but it is within the last 30 years that they have started to focus on elevating their farming practices and wine quality. Today, a multitude of French and Spanish grape varieties thrive in the mixed soils of red clay, loam, and sand 75km from the Atlantic coast at 450m in the foothills of the Middle Atlas. Winemaker Jacques Poulain, previously of Celliers du Meknes, the country's best-known winery, and Domaine Ouled Thaleb, its oldest vineyard, leads the farm and cellar. The vineyards are farmed organically, and winter crops are used to improve soil health. The farm has led improvement efforts in the nearby town as well, where many of its employees live."
