The farm comprises 125 acres of organically farmed vineyards in the highest part of Puglia, Gioia del Colle, half an hour’s drive inland west of Bari. Like all the red wines of Cassano, Marchesana Primitivo matures exclusively in stainless steel vats and in bottle. It makes a clear impression of the terroir of karst clay soils that bring an incredible minerality with it. Bright and elegant, flavorful and balanced, with hints of red berries and violets. Recommended with vegetable dishes, pizza and pasta as well as easy game dishes and half matured cheeses.
