Distributor's Notes:
"Labouré-Roi was founded in 1832 and is today one of the major houses in Burgundy. It is based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or.
Labouré-Roi offers today an impressive portfolio of wines from regional appellations to Grand Crus, over 80% of which are exported to over 30 countries worldwide. Our wines have regularly been selected in blind tastings for many of the world’s leading airlines and cruises, and can be found in leading restaurants around the globe. In the last 10 years our wines have won several and prestigious International awards including Best White Wine of the World at the 2009 International Wine Challenge in London for our 2007 Clos de la Baronne Meursault. The Labouré-Roi winemaking facility is one of the more technically advanced wineries in Burgundy whith a cellaring capacity of 1300 barrels. Burgundy is the cradle of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With this Heritage, Labouré -Roi’s wine making team is devoted to the quality and has installed a full monitoring system with several domains dispatched from Chablis to the Beaujolais district. Starting in 2008, Labouré Roi is going GREEN. Their action for the environment follows the "One billion trees" program launched by Wangari Manthai, who won the Nobel Prize and founded the Greenbelt Movement, and with the help of the United Nations program for the environment. Their action shares the Kyoto objectives of reducing carbon dioxide emissions. For every bottle sold, as part of this program, a tree is planted in Mali or Indonesia. Our goal is to co-financed the plantation of 100 000 trees per year! This program was first launch in the US with the Beaujolais Nouveau."
