Close8 Year Old Single Malt Whisky DISTILLED ON THE ISLE OF ARRAN
Â
This whisky was bought as new make to celebrate the birth of Nicolas' first daughter, Jane E. Palazzi. It has been aged for 8 years in a 112.5 liter cask made of oak from the heralded Réno-Valdieu forest – only four such casks exist in the world. The cask was built entirely by hand by Jean-Noel Pelletan, as the "final exam" for his Maître Artisan Tonnelier diploma, France's master cooperage program.

Sometimes you have labels made but don't get to bottling something until the following year!
Â
The forest of Réno-Valdieu is one of the last remains of a forest that existed in Gallo-Roman times: the Silva Pertica. Renowned for its sessile oaks and beech trees, the forest area extends over more than 4,000 acres and shelters remarkable trees. About 350 years old, they were planted during the reign of Louis XIV and are now 40 meters high.

This bottling is a tribute to the most courageous little girl I have met, who fought for her life in 2017, went through brain surgery in 2018, and is slowly but surely taking her life back.
