Distributor's Notes:
"Nearly a century ago, the Giache family made their way to Argentina from Italy’s Ancona region, bringing their agricultural expertise with them. They roamed the country until the mid-1940s when Ramón, the son of the Giache family, commenced his journey into wine production in Mendoza. Today, Alberto Giache, Ramon’s son, carries on the cherished tradition of love and dedication to his vineyards at Viñas del Aconcagua. In the early 20th century, Don Quinto Agostinelli also arrived in Buenos Aires from Ancona, Italy, to work at the iconic Hotel Alvear, a renowned establishment in the city’s hotel and haute cuisine industry, around 1940. His son, Jorge, played a pivotal role in advancing the Argentine haute cuisine market by selling gourmet products for decades. Presently, Javier, Don Quinto’s grandson, continues to uphold the values of haute cuisine as part of a project that embodies the results of three generations of Italian immigrants’ efforts. One of their flagship products is the 99 Fuegos Malbec, represented in the state of New York by Woodwine. This wine is a blend of Malbec grapes from the same vineyard, with 85% aged in steel tanks and 15% in American oak barrels for six months. The predominant fruity notes and the complexity imparted by the oak make this wine a unique and remarkable specimen, easily recognizable as a classic ‘Argentine Malbec.’ 99 Fuegos is a collaborative project by Javier Agostinelli and Federico Rozo, born in the Viñas del Aconcagua winery, nestled 900 meters above sea level, which was once the heart of the Huarpe community. Alberto Giache also contributes his talent to this endeavor, resulting in a meticulously crafted wine of limited production and exceptional quality."
